Baugé’s golf course
Located in the heart of Anjou, in an exceptional setting of green, the golf course of Baugé is an 18-hole track surrounded by the forests of the Pays Baugeois. Opening since 1995 in Baugé, the course of Baugé-Pontigné is a rolling, 5,947-metre (6,504-yard)-long, par-72 track and was built by architect Alain Prat.
Track: natural obstacles, a technical design, a protected environment and absolute quietness are part of the game! Baugé’s golf course is renowned for being the most beautiful in the département.
When dwelling at the Orangerie de la Touchardière, you are 25 minutes from this most gorgeous course.
Champigné’s golf course
It is in a protected natural setting 30 minutes from the Orangerie de la Touchardière that the Anjou Golf de Champigné invites you to practise golf. Whether you are a newbie or an advanced player, the field’s 100 hectares (250 acres) offer quality services.
The Anjou Golf de Champigné provides you with an 18-hole track, a 6-hole compact and a covered practice field. Also, a golf school is open to all, where professional golfers give introductory courses.
Sablé-Solesmes’ golf course
It will take you 20 minutes from the Orangerie de la Touchardière to reach one of the most beautiful golf courses in France.
In the heart of the Sarthe river valley, the 27 holes of Sablé-Solesmes’ golf course and its 9-hole training course are nestled in a fertile land with forests, rivers and fields.
Canoé Tiercé
The water sports centre of Porte Bise in Tiercé offer you kayaking trips down the Sarthe or Loir rivers. You will discover a rich and secret nature as you float along. You will be able to go on a discovery trip to the Porte Bise islands or take half a day to assail the locks. Many excursions are available at Tiercé’s Porte Bise nautical base. You can also rent paddles or learn the basics.
Whether you go to Porte Bise, which is 25 minutes from the Orangerie de la Touchardière, or on the way back, do not miss out the Atelier de la Cithare in Étriché, which is just 5 minutes from Porte Bise.
Didier Beauclair will be glad to show you round his lute-making workshop, where he will explain the making of these instruments with regional wood varieties, and then make you discover the sounds of the various instruments in the zither family.
Equestrian centre
In the village of La Chapelle-Saint-Laud, near the forest of Chambiers and 15 minutes from the Orangerie de la Touchardière, the centre of Cheval St Laud offers you horse rides the classical way or in woodland.
AquaVita
AquaVita is a huge, 5,000 sq.m- (54,000 sq.ft-) water facility located in Angers and opens all year round. It includes outdoor and indoor pools, together with a well-being area and activities such as the torrent, a fast-running, 150-m-long (500-ft) track, or the water slide where you will flow down 90 m (295 ft) before you dive into the pool. Get ready to be thrilled.
The hot-air balloons of Anjou
From a bird’s eye, the Unesco world heritage-listed Loire Valley will show you all its charms.
Located in Gennes, 40 minutes from the Orangerie de la Touchardière, the association Les Montgolfières d’Anjou will offer you to take off every day, so long as the weather permits it. You may book your tickets on their website or by phone at +33 (0) 2 41 40 48 04. Gliding is about 1 hour long, and the whole adventure lasts 3 hours.
